they are actually always there

bowling......i guess.
sorry they are so blurry, found these old things on myspace.

there's something about a childhood friend that is so special. they seem to be the person you think back to when reminiscing of an old house or car. they are the ones you wish you could find on facebook or in my case myspace. growing up i lived in a few cities, first it was hayward, then to newark, jumped over to fremont, then i forcefully was moved to oakdale. i wont go into the move, because it was anything but pretty. sure i missed my school, my school friends, my house, and sure the comfort of my cozy well family-oriented neighborhood. but as soon as mommy and daddy signed those house papers, i knew i would be leaving the two girls that meant the most at age 9.

cori and liz didn't live by me, but their saint of a grandma did, and the most famous gacky did. they were babysat by their grandparents and i just happend to live reeder court as well. we sold lemonade, went to parks, played hairdresser, swam in pools, ran through sprinklers, but most of all we were each other's best friends for a good 2 years. when i turned 9 i moved, about 100 miles inland to oakdale. the day i moved was the last time i would talk to cori for abour 5 years. until myspace came along, we founded each other and commented on some photos but nothing until about another 4 years. facebook came along, and we were once again linked up.

so what i'm trying to say, is that when good friends come along they stay. they may fly in and out of your life, but they are actually always there.

our first picture in 10 years.....this was back in november.

the reason for writing this sap bucket, was to wish a happy college future for cori. we have dinner tonight to wish her off.

xoxo

picking off the good stuff

if there's one thing i don't regret doing in the past month, it would have to be 'going vegan.' i'll say it now and i'll say it in another 5 years, "yes, i'm vegan and i love it with my whole heart." people, it has changed my life, in ways i never thought that changing such a simple thing would do. okay maybe not that simple, sure i can't eat half the things that normal 19 year old kids love, but every time i turn down that burger that has cheese squishing out the sides: it gets easier.

or when you're walking past Pizza My Heart and your friends want pizza. there was no way i was turning down that stuff. so i didn't walk away, rather i picked off all the good stuff.

i think mine was better than theirs anyway...

lazy day

(Shorts: Ross. Shirt: Swagggggggg. Sunnies: Betsey Johnson.)

some say vacations are one huge big lazy day, i disagree. most of the time vacations for me are usually packed with activities and nonstop going, which i love but some days lazy days are needed. today was one of those, us girls woke up, made some breakfast and made our way to downtown Santa Cruz. we missed out first shot at the movie, so we settled for a later time. to spare some time we walked around, shopped, and of course at the one and only pizza my heart

i love my friends, and when i'm around them i realize how important it is to laugh.

p.s i updated 'hints of happiness' check it!

sun burnt baby

(Dress: Ross. Sunnies: Betsey Johnson.)

i'm so sun burnt it's not even funny. don't laugh ok? while most woke up and made their way to the beach, i slowly lifted my bum off the bed and begged for some tylenol. and while the 'others' basked in the warm sun, i hid while reading/finishing my book. there was no way this lobster was getting into a swim suit, i opted for the maxi dress.

i cant believe i still have 2 more fabulous nights here. i'm having the time of my life here, surrounded by my friends who i love the most.

tomorrow nicole and i are catching a movie bright and early!

have i mentioned that i've been playing an unhealthy amount of yahtzee?

beach week

(Shorts: Mimi Chica. Flannel: Thrifted.)

hey there! i'll be away for the next 5 days! i'm spending the holiday week in aptos, such a fabulous beach town. i'm here with my best of friends, literally touching distance of the beach all week. we spent the first day laying out eating watermelon. watermelon is wonderful...do you like watermelon? everyone should at least attempt to eat a whole watermelon once in their life. well i'm off to venture off for the rest of the night, but i'll be back tomorrow. have a fabulous 4th of july!

p.s. the pictures with my straight face are strictly a joke, don't ever think that i take myself that seriously.

it was a sweet one

(Shirt: Free People. Shorts: H&M. Sandals: Rainbows. Hair: Summer.)
lecturing the bystanders........listen up kids....

no, i'm not talking about me, but thanks. last night 2 of my most fabulous girlfriends had a sleep over. (yes i said girlfriends, my mom constantly says that when she's talking about a friend or friends that happens to be a girl.......i hate it...i guess it rubbed off on me) any who, it started off with me walking through the door and instantly wanting to make sweet potato fries. since i'm the most domesticated friends, i said i kindly offered. sweet potato fries are seriously the best tasting snack. ever. so we made our way to the store, grabbed everything and any that made our mouth water and walked out the door. now of course i couldn't eat half the crap you crave when you're having a sleep over. and why yes your taste buds change you when have a sleep over, didn't you know that?
