dad's day

(Dress: last summer's find. Sweater: F21. Shoes: Payless. Watch: Gifted)

this is my dad, some say we look alike, some say we don't at all. we both like to sleep way too much, and have left hand-handed traits. red spring chicken is our favorite, and taking these apart and putting them back together for the fun of it, is what we do. we have the same eyes, and the exact stubborn personality. we can be uptight, but share a love for dogs and Kennedy meadows.
dad i love you.

strap boy

strap boy is a name that we gave my brother our first night in the hotel...see he has to use a roll away bed, and since the weather has been outta control, we thought it would be a good idea for the little thing to strap himself in. you know just in case a tornado came.......you're not laughing are you?.... maybe it was a 'had-to-be-there' sorta moment. we were all laughing, i'm so funny.

any who, i'm in a road trip with my grandparents, brother and cousin. it's already been a hoot of a trip!

i'll be updating you each day, i'm taking tons of pictures...

first stop: Chukchansi Casino
a little pit stop before LA.
They couldn't figure out the AC....he heater was on for 5 minutes before they figured it out....

why are they so cute?

AHHHHHH brother!

a cake stand for my mom

this is me eating a cookie. when i walked up to this store these were sitting there, i didn't know if they were edible. i took a chance. i was searching for a cake stand for my momma, which would be her mother's day present. i found one if you're wondering. and that cookie was good.

Happy Mother's Day to all the amazing moms out there; and to all of you who hope someday to raise a couple of miracles yourself.

i can't wait to have a family someday. it has always been my dream to have a little girl. a little one to teach manners to, hold with a special touch, and to nurture until i'm gone. when i think of a little girl of my own someday, i think of bows, little nightgowns with pink hearts, flowery bedspreads, the smell of baby lotion, sweet soft skin, messy morning hair as she climbs up to the table for Saturday breakfast, but most of all i think of the love a little girl has to offer. the endless amount  of laughs and tears that both come because of happiness. i thank my mom from the bottom of my heart, for raising me with such a strong nature. to look beyond flaws in someone, giving me the courage to give people second chances, but most of all saying 'i love you' when you should.

so today, thank you mom, for all you do. not my life or anyone else's could amount to what i owe you.

xoxo

little brother

he will never know how much i love him. i've known the dude for 17 years and 3 months exactly, that's a real long time. when i first saw him, i didn't know what he was, he was just some "new kid" that came busted my bubble. the attention was gone from me, and now to this little dude. some say i was mean, scratching, hitting, leaving bruises, on him; basically doing whatever i could to make him cry. (yes i was a devil child...most say) then we grew up, and my love for him grew, into a more "i need to watch over him" kinda thing, and it stuck. he usually says i yell at him, but i only want him to be the best he can. he's grown into such a great young man so far, and has really come a long way. i love my little brother.

so obviously me making him drive me to an antique store and thrift store today was a sign of total love. he thinks thrift stores are dumb...guess where the little booger is getting his Christmas present this year...?

he was a trooper. that's all that really matters.

oh hay-to the 9th flannel in my wardrobe

my two day Easter

yes this is a photo of me indulging in corn. i love corn, especially when its on a cob. i love getting stuff in my teeth. such a satisfying treat.

since i didn't have my camera cord, connected  to me or the computer all week i've been seriously lacking in all aspects of the blog scene. here's my Easter, it was spent trying little candies, complaining about the ham, and reminding the little children what Easter is really about. i love egg hunts, don't get me wrong, there's nothing like a pastel, sweet, soft pink little egg, hiding behind that bush, but sometimes i think we forget what Easter is really about. whatever religion you may be, or however you believe, there's one thing that this holiday, and every holiday for that matter should do, celebrate family. when our day comes to and end, and we stop running into random people, we come home to our families. our families are what really matter in this crazy world of ours.

so on my Easter weekend i spent it with family. a big family bbq, completed with smores, and the annual egg dying festivities. and a sweet reminding Easter on just how special family is.

so Saturday...

half day of girl's shopping...i love doing this. the one looking at us is my mother, she's hilarious, and my aunt on the left. seriously the best times when we are all together. going to do major damage at old navy...anyone happen to see their incredible sales?
have you had the new size? a trenti? or whatever it's called. for the giggles, i ordered it. i think my mom called me ridiculous.

my adorable cousin, maddison.
kylie and logan, my new neighboors, but lifetime cousins and friends.
proudly showing off his chipped tooth...little boys are the cutest.
i've dyed eggs with her every year since she was born.
children are truly artists.

And then came Sunday...
oh hey brother...it's always an interesting and life changing car ride when he drives
grandma's wonderful lunch

haystacks? have you ever had them?
a little rascal by the name of erica about 17 years ago broke the ear...
my first Easter basket...i cannot wait to show my babies that some day. thanks grandma for saving it.
of course he made an appearance.
