sorry they are so blurry, found these old things on myspace. |
there's something about a childhood friend that is so special. they seem to be the person you think back to when reminiscing of an old house or car. they are the ones you wish you could find on facebook or in my case myspace. growing up i lived in a few cities, first it was hayward, then to newark, jumped over to fremont, then i forcefully was moved to oakdale. i wont go into the move, because it was anything but pretty. sure i missed my school, my school friends, my house, and sure the comfort of my cozy well family-oriented neighborhood. but as soon as mommy and daddy signed those house papers, i knew i would be leaving the two girls that meant the most at age 9.
cori and liz didn't live by me, but their saint of a grandma did, and the most famous gacky did. they were babysat by their grandparents and i just happend to live reeder court as well. we sold lemonade, went to parks, played hairdresser, swam in pools, ran through sprinklers, but most of all we were each other's best friends for a good 2 years. when i turned 9 i moved, about 100 miles inland to oakdale. the day i moved was the last time i would talk to cori for abour 5 years. until myspace came along, we founded each other and commented on some photos but nothing until about another 4 years. facebook came along, and we were once again linked up.
so what i'm trying to say, is that when good friends come along they stay. they may fly in and out of your life, but they are actually always there.

our first picture in 10 years.....this was back in november. |
the reason for writing this sap bucket, was to wish a happy college future for cori. we have dinner tonight to wish her off.
